Dr. Debra Klumb
Veterinarian
Dr. Debra Klumb is a local resident and was previously employed at a local veterinary clinic here in the Conejo Valley but has worked for the past 5 years in the San Fernando Valley. Dr. Klumb grew up in Duarte, California adjacent to the wilderness where she developed a love and respect for wildlife and the great outdoors. A variety of dogs, cats, pocket pets, reptiles, and desert tortoises shared the home which has continued to this day. A typical horse-crazy teenager she exercised and showed horses for a local training barn. Her dream was to become an equine veterinarian, but instead, she found her niche working with small animals.
Dr. Klumb received her DVM from UC Davis in 1985 and is a classmate of Dr. Stephen Watase. She completed a one-year small animal rotating internship at California Animal Hospital from 1987 through 1988. Her interests lie in all aspects of veterinary medicine, surgery, dentistry, and radiology of small animals. Interests outside of veterinary medicine include long-distance hiking, backpacking, mountain bike riding, paddle boarding, gardening, and her 2- and 4-footed family.
My family and I were a part of Ventura County Guide Dogs of America for a short while and helped raise a guide dog puppy. He passed his training and became a working guide dog.
